ROI Results 3/30 @ Gulfstream

Gulfstream on Saturday had some good racing and three players were able to show a profit
with the rest getting the virtual "skunk". Joly B takes third place with a $132 return via the
Superfecta route. As he stated, he was able to turn the 1-5 Prince Lucky into a winning
wager which returned a bit more. El Prado popped the cork and takes the
number two spot with the double digit $17.20 Oaks winner Champagne Anyone. El Prado's
return was a nice $172 for her $20 bet. This weeks King of the Hill and a runaway winner is
Cal who switched his wagering array up and hit 3 winners out of his 4 bets. Cal showed a
nice profit with assorted straight wagers on Melmich, Maximum Security and Bodexpress
worth $334. Congrats on the win Cal. Nicely played. Hopefully Cal recovered from his
virtual virtual pick 6 ticket when his single Focus Group won the 13th and then Maximum
Security won the finale. The 20 cent pick 6 payed $1934. I guess 5000 to 7000 players
hit it. Seems wrong to finally hit a "big one" and not retire a millionaire <grin>. Following
are the unofficial results pending any objections. See you all next week wherever Joly
ships us whether it be Aqueduct, Keenland or Santa Anita. Or all three?

Rainbow pick 6 actually had 7,455 winners. $1934 win would have been nice, but I can live with not winning it. I was afraid it might be one of those 5 or 6 digit wins. I would have been sick then, but in the end, it turned out to be way chalkier than I expected. Only two horses paid more than $10 and that was in the 12th and in the Derby itself. Maiden race that started out the sequence didn't turn out to be as hard as it looked with Pletcher's entry winning it.

Still, there is a lesson to be learned about having more faith in your picks. I hope I learned it, but I doubt it. I seemed to be doomed to making the same old mistakes.:wf

What an interesting idea. If there ever was a situation where it made sense to play "coast to coast" races, this Saturday is it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Your ability to retrieve useful items from the archives is astounding.:tro:

At the Big A we have the Wood, the Gazelle and either the Carter or Bay Shore. At Keeneland we have the Blue Grass, the Ashland and the Madison. At Santa Anita we have the SA Derby, the SA Oaks and the SA Handicap. That could let us play 3 major races with maximum KY Derby points, 3 major races with maximum KY Oaks points, and 3 major graded stakes with national interest. That's not a bad contest card.

I love that card....

Dracula Worried

SO MANY STAKES MEANS LESS VAMPIRES ;)

No wonder that Dracula is nervous

Looks like it's going to be an interesting Saturday. Maybe when it's over we can adjust our "rabbit ears" and get a better picture of the pending KD. It has been a confusing year with the Florida Derby being won by a horse going sprint to route and the two Bafferts losing at Oaklawn, which normally BB owns, and a maiden winning the Bayou State prep. Kentucky Derby always a skull buster, but even more so when there is no Pharoah or Justify. I would be surprised, if it wasn't one of those years where we have 3 different winners of each of the Triple Crown races. Might be good for bettors, if your crystal ball, weegie board, etc. is working.
