Vet scratch/bullet work on same day?

Just a general handicapping question for you guys.

In the 7th race at Oaklawn today, the 5/2 favorite is #4 Tipazar. The PPs show that he worked 4f in 48 flat (1/93) on March 10th. They also say she was a "vet scratch" on March 10th.

I'm inclined to believe the horse is sharp because of the recent bullet work, but what to make of the vet scratch on the same day?

Cheers,

Otis

What pp's show a vet scratch?

yea just saw that. Hard to run a race in the afternoon if you work in the morning, but I'm thinking that would be more of a stewards scratch. I guess I'm no help but she looks live to me. The Jones and Fipke homebreds look like they could be sneaky in here too.

Or maybe a missed pre-race vet appointment? Who knows? Agree that the filly should be sitting on go. 2nd off layoff. Should be on or near the lead. Comes out of a strong race. Moquett/Santana...

Thanks!

The horse I have my eye on in that race is the #10 Munnings Soul. Difficult first start in the slop against a pretty good horse in Lady Apple. Adds blinkers, definitely eligible to improve.

Already been mentioned, I think he has a shot too

Ah, I see now. Some nice works on that #9 and still waiting to see her on a dry track so you might be right.

The other horse I’ve got some interest in is the #6 Ready Orb Not, who had a bad start last race but who looked interested in running and could improve second time out.

I guess we’ll see. Im not really betting much today. More focused on putting some work in for the Saturday card.

yea not much happening today. Going to have to see the odds on those horses.

Redboarding here but only bets I’ve decided to make and placed a $10 win bet on the #11 in race 6 and decided to include a $10 double #11 with the #4 you brought up. I like a few of these other horses in race 6 but really the #4 should win if she runs to her ability.

Thanks. Already up and wouldn’t have even looked at those races without this thread. So hopefully it hits.

Damn. Of course the 6 would beat me since she was one of the horses I liked.

herkhorse 03-21-2019 04:34 PM

yea so much for that :D

Easy Goer Otis 03-21-2019 04:37 PM

I'm blaming the vet scratch!
