Potential Derby horse....

Thursday at Aqueduct , race 5. I think there's a horse with big upside. Guess who it is....

blackthroatedwind 12-16-2018 10:22 PM

Oklahoma, Ohio, or West Virginia?

Took a quick peak and looks like a nice race. I think Moretti is horse to beat.

If the Curlin baby Erlich gets out front, they may not be able to catch him...if he can get the 9F without stopping, maybe a Moretti/Erlich exacta will be a good play?

I think Will Dancer will show speed and push Erlich some early

Might be the underlay of the year.

Lisbon made nice wide sweep into connection in his debut on turf before getting ping-ponged around after making contact with the Juddmonte runner in that race.

His breeding is geared more towards the main track which makes his summer diet of turf workouts a bit curious. By Quality Road out of a Hard Spun mare. Both the dam and the granddam were stakes winners over the Aqueduct main track and deeper in the family is 2yo champion filly Family Style and her half sister Lost Kitty, who won both the Del Mar Debutante and the Del Mar Futurity in 1987 for D. Wayne Lukas.

That's where I'm going. There are no killers in this field, at least on paper....the supposed subject of this thread notwithstanding. Apparently despite Todd's 2YOs not even running particularly well in Florida, the OP of this thread thinks he finally has one that can run. Call me dubious.

Don't let them push you around Joey.

Upon further review I have downgraded Moretti. He was the lock of the decade, now he's the lock of the year. I have upgraded Lisbon. I had him as an X. Now he's a C, he has a chance to be a well beaten non threatening 2nd to Moretti.

casp0555 12-18-2018 12:34 PM

...and JV in the irons. ;)

You are already up to the year 2150 in your locks of year ;)

Alabama Stakes 12-18-2018 12:46 PM

The number 2 hoss in the fifth race

I think that the deuce getting Franco American spaghettios, after 2 poor rides by castor oil, will take some beating. With 4 nice half mile works going into this race, he seems primed for optimum effort. The white faced hoss could show up underneath at an L 7 price.
