Ahhhhhh Thistledown will test our middle America horse racing metal with a first post start time of 1:10 EST, why 1:10 and not 1:00 I'm not sure. Anyway, we will be playing races 1 - 9 only . . . ending with the Ohio Derby. There are two other non-graded stakes as well.

It sure took a long while to find the scratches and changes for today's TDN card. Not posted on Equibase until after 12:30. The live tote at Twin Spires only started for TDN around 12:35. No crawl on the track feed until after the talking heads had finished around 12:40. I listened to the house handicappers to try to learn what changes their were, and after hearing about their thoughts on today's card, I can only hope that the quality of the horses will exceed the quality of the people discussing them.:(

JB I've made it a point to never listen to the "Experts". Sticking with my own system has proved best. When I have changed a horse due to "Expert" analysis, it's most often come back to bite me. I believe that you and I could provide race analysis as good as most on the air or track "Experts".

I should explain. I was listening to them only to try to learn about scratches and changes which I couldn't find elsewhere. My negative comment didn't have as much to do with their specific picks (after all, everyone is entitled to an opinion and mine are wrong more often than they are right) as with their overall style and presentation, which I found to be less than professional. Perhaps I've been spoiled by some other track hosts.
