Once Again, As DC ~ I Request A LATER START
*** 8:30 AM = MT Time Is “Ruff” ~
(Am Up At 3 AM Feeding The Cat ~ )

Would Like To Begin With R5 = The 1st Stakes Race
And End With R13 = Preakness

My Plea Was Shot Down For Derby Day
Any Chance It Can Be Considered This Time

ANY LATER START WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED! :{>:

Ruffian, I understand your request but traditionally on this forum we play the full card through the Preakness or Derby, etc. Many of us handicapp the card Friday evening and check scratches early next day. The pps are available already. I may start picking and grinning tonight. As I said for the Derby, this is part of the fun for all Big Day race cards. Race 1-13 sticking with tradition.

Gotcha

Ok..Understood
Didn’t Realize that it also applied to the Preakness :zz:
I thought perhaps it was only for the Derby

I learned something very long ago
When in doubt it never hurts to ask ;)

I ALWAYS Have My Entry Finished On Friday: It's the ''CHECK SCRATCHES EARLY" That Is My Dilemma!
I'll Just Take My Chances That ''CAT SCRATCH FEVER'' Doesn't Hit!

Very true:):):

and for those hugging the left coast, it's a deal breaker...especially when the card gets hacked by weather.

Plenilune 05-18-2018 07:26 PM

I am not fond of hacking up a card. That being said, going forward, it would not bother me to drop the first couple of races if the time is so early. I guess I'm just going by experience of being physically at the track at 10:30 am and it is such a long, exhausting day.

And when bad weather really hits the scratches are horrible to deal with starting so early.

Just something to contemplate. :)

Plenilune 05-18-2018 08:19 PM

Please, just stop it.

Would I prefer later starting times? Sure, even here on the east coast. Would it be ok if sometimes we drop the first few races, yeah, ok. Yet at the same time it's not as if the timing of every single Saturday throughout the year is inconvenient. Some Saturdays one must adjust and work around it. It's no big deal.

Alts for ROI choices, no.

DonGuido 05-18-2018 10:09 PM

There will not be and never has been Alts for ROI choices. Your ROI's are what they are with no Alts. If your picks get scratched, your loose out, so be it and you move on, the way we've been doing it HERE for years and will continue.
