August 5 Saratoga ROI Wagers go here

Please have your ROI cyber wagers posted here by Saratoga's first post of 1:00 Eastern.

Last week we saw a new King of the Grand Slam, NYRA's unique multi race wager, when Real Quiet showed us all how the wager should really be structured.:tro: Will he attempt to make it two in a row?:$::$:

Good luck to all and thank you to RQ for scoring.

RQ, she has you there. When will we ever learn you can't second guess a woman, especially a cat woman and even more so a Ruffian cat woman. :D

Just remember this is Saratoga, where the final odds can vary dramatically from the Morning Line. In the just completed 7th race today, I was excited to cash a win ticket on Conquest Sure Shot. A winning ticket is always a great thing, but Conquest was 12-1 on the ML, yet went off at only 5-1 with only one rather insignificant scratch in the race. The whim of the crowd, on perhaps Andy Serling's pre race comments, can move the tote dramatically.

I don't know about the Ruff but I would take an $11.00 winner :$:any day of the week but then again I am a chalk eater in the win position. :) Good thing I rarely bet to win. Actually I rarely bet at all.

RQ SAYS =>
I don't know about the Ruff but I would take an $11.00 winner
any day of the week

TO WHICH THE RUFFLED ONE REPLIES...

SO...........ACCORDING TO THAT LOGIC
MY $20 WIN WAGER WOULD REWARD ME WITH A WHOPPING $110
WOW...THAT IS IMPRESSIVE
BUT....
SOMEHOW I HAVE TROUBLE REMEMBERING THE LAST ROI WON WITH $110

NJ Stinks 08-05-2017 12:22 AM

Total Bets - $100

Race 10:
$60 to win on #2 (Sassy Little Lila)

$10 Daily Double:
Race 10 - #2
Race 11 - #5

$30 Daily Double:
Race 10 - #2
Race 11 - #7

Real Quiet 08-05-2017 09:53 AM

Race 5 $20 ex key 5 w 7-11 ($40)

Race 8 $20 ex key 10 w 2-3-5 ($60)

No Grand Slam for me. Too many MTO's with iffy weather. Is Joly waiting on late scratches so he can dive in ? Good luck to all. As for Ruffians theory of wagering I only have one word. DIGGER!

Never mind late scratches. I'm still waiting for a clue on Early scratches. None yet at 11:14. So far all races are on the turf, but I'm worried about what might happen by mid afternoon. No Grand Slam for me this week either - I like to have a single in the anchor leg, which allows a spread in the early legs and the chance for multiple hits. I read in this morning's Saratoga Special that my single in the De La Rose, Sassy Little Lila, was probably going to scratch and wait for the Fourstardave, where she will get a weight break.

Added at 11:20 - Ah, finally. All of the MTO's have been scratched, so the horsemen seem confident that the turf races will remain.

thanks and good luck to all

I'm fascinated by Race 11. What in the world is Neolithic doing in this race? Dropping from consecutive 3rd place finishes behind Arrogate in two of the world's richest races at 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 miles to an optional claimer at 7 furlongs. Huge class and talent edge, but at this distance? Could just jog to a win, but might not be primed to win. Here goes:

Race 11:
$7 trifecta: 7 // 3,6,8 // 3,6,8 ($42)
$5 trifecta: 3,6,8 // 7 // 3,6,8 ($30)
$4 trifecta: 3,6,8 // 3,6,8 // 7 ($24)

Good luck to all and thank you to RQ for scoring.
