Lawyer Ron, his works

Just thought I would point out that since receiving LR, Pletcher has worked him three times and none are the speed crazy bullets he was firing before.

Pointg5 10-25-2006 06:40 PM

I saw that as well, it will be interesting to see his next start...

You noticed that also?
I was wondering what the bleeding hearts who said noone was to blame for his rankness are right about now.
The first step in getting a horse to relax in the afternoon is to get him to relax in the morning. It appears they are doing just that. So the bleeding hearts can cry me a river.

I read the article on Bloodhorse, they were talking about Premium Tap's work and it looked like he and LR worked on the same day, there was a significant difference in time. That might be a bad thing, but we all know LR can roll, so I took it as a positive...

Of course its a postitive. Once you know a horse has speed you don't need to impress the clockers every 7 days and show everyone how fast your horse is. You want controlled energy with even 8th's and a strong gallop out so that the horse knows he's supposed to finish.
I guess I brought it up because the notion that his rankness couldn't be dealt with appears to be a fallacy.

The funniest thing Hoss is that when Pletcher gets horses and they win or improve all the nitwits can't wait to accuse him of cheating. They don't seem to understand things like a change up in work patterns and conditioning, as if those things make absolutely no difference.

I think he still has some upside, he wasn't spotted that well, until the beginning of the year, then by that time he had run alot. His sheet #'s weren't bad and with the break and trainer change, I think he can improve. I don't like him in the Classic, but he's a board threat if he goes...Pletcher might not have a say, but I would think he would rather run in the Clark...

He could be a great four year old.

Mike can you post his numbers...he's not on my list. I'm no fan of LR but if he's 'learning' then he deserves a look.

Pointg5 10-25-2006 07:10 PM

Is that a cattle dog in your avatar?

Danzig 10-25-2006 07:11 PM

looks like a corgi to me

I think hes learning, and also being taught. The lack of respect Todd gets as a conditioner even after all he's done is incredible to me.

Pre Pletcher works:
August 19th CD 5f 59:1 1/20
September 9th CD 6f 1:11 1/1
September 16th CD 5f 59:3 1/34

Post Pletcher works:
October 9th Bel 4f 48 4/41
October 16th Bel 5f 1:01:4 6/11
October 22nd Bel 5f 1:01:1 11/79

You make the call.

Thats fine but the bleeding hearts screaming that the owner was wrong to change things up with a rank horse who wasn't finishing really should examine the ATTEMPT that the new guys is making and consider if their remarks were ill advised.:D

They like to bark a lot too. A friend of mine is a breeder. :)
