Europe Vs. America

I know, we can’t compete in soccer, golf, wine, cheese, bread, but by golly we have better horses !!!

randallscott35 10-25-2006 03:33 PM

Can we not do this? Horses are horses. Half the Euros who are coming are probably born in this country. George Washington was bred in America, doesn't that make him and American horse? This is a stupid argument about Euros vs. Americans. It is a great sport and the training methods are different and the animals have no clue where they are from.

There's a pretty good video of Stefan Postma, a dutch soccer player, floating around the net.

Personally, I love Chilean wine. I'm telling you...

Try the Cassilero del Diablo merlot or cabernet. Great stuff for under $10 a bottle...

kgar311 10-25-2006 03:47 PM

Wild Irish Rose is a fine wine. $1.99 a bottle and they have to hide it behind the counter from the bums so they dont steal it.

Say what you want, but it is going to be said time and time again. Euros v Americans. It is just a fact and it is actually pretty fun to brag and boost. No one means any harm. But this is also Coolmore v Dubai as well.

It's stupid. Plain and simple. Other than training methods and difference in courses/distances (especially concerning dirt) it is a worthless comparison....But I'll be a good soldier then Eurobounce and play along.

Okay, I stand corrected, our method of training is superior (lol)
we have to do this, I have to do this, becasue I have to relate.

Wine? I could survive without European wine; California does fine and Australian wine is top notch.
Cheese? American cheese on a cheeseburger wins in a walk; the cheese found on a "wine and cheese" platter or "cheese and crackers" plate sucks.
Bread? Do Euros have the hard deli rolls that we have in the northeast? If no, then we win that one, too.

"good one"

Bold Reasoning 10-25-2006 04:38 PM

The Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame seems to favor dirt runners over turf runners. That could mean that WE think we have the better horses.:D

Danzig 10-25-2006 05:40 PM

it's funny that aragorn is considered 'ours' when he came from 'there' and his owners still ARE there!

horses all are so intertwined pedigree-wise it's hard to say who's what. horses there with FR next to their name, but sire and dam are both from here, they just got dropped there! i guess if it's trained by AOB it's THEIRS...

so is discreet cat ours? what about bernardini? do you go by owner, trainer, breeding?? yikes.

good luck.

oh, but we do have the best football!!

what are you thinking of that you saw cRisco????

Randy is right on this, but I will go ahead and point out the obvious.

Europe has better turf runners.
America has better dirt runners.
gee, go figure.
they breed for turf,
we breed for dirt.

oh, and our polytrack runners are the sh*t.
nobody can touch them, not even those damn polyrunners from Turkey or wherever else they run on that surface.
nobody does polyrunners like the USA.
