Far Hills Steeplechase 10/15
We have arrived at the biggest Steeplechase day of the year at Far Hills with $700,000 in purses distributed in 7 races.
Read all about the horses and runners at the following sites: http://thisishorseracing.com/news/ http://www.nationalsteeplechase.com/ With extensive coverage at these sites, I’m not going to provide a horse by horse analysis and I’ll list my projected order of finish. The horses before the “/” are possible winners. Numbers are listed at the NSA site under “final overnight entries” and at the DRF. Race 1) 9-1-7-8-5 / 10-4-3-2-11-6 Race 2) 8-2-4-10 / 9-7-5-1-3-6…..AE’s are not considered Race 3) 7-6 / 8-2-3-4-5-1 Race 4) 2-3 / 5-4-1-7-8-6 Race 5) 5-7-4-2 / 1-3-8-6 Race 6) 5-4-9-1 / 8-3-6-2-7 Race 7) 4-3-2 / 1-5-6 Hope to see you at the races!! Good Luck!!! |
Saturday was a great day of steeplechase action. Rawnaq was much the best holding the fast closing Scorpiancer safe by ¾ of a length.
The drunks tailgating in the infield put a damper on what could have been a perfect day. Had 3 winners on top (races 2, 4, 7) 2 winners as a second selection (races 1, 6) and 2 tris if boxing the top 3 selections in races 6,7. Wish everyday was a Far Hills steeplechase day!!! Next stop Great Meadow at The Plains Virginia on Saturday 10/22 which features parimutuel wagering. However, the pools are so small (average $800 in an exacta or tri pool per race) that a $2 bet skews the payout. Have to play for only $1 and hope to take the pool. Good Luck with your wagers!!! |
