The "Meltdown at Medinah" in 2012 was horrific. 45k people expecting a romp and a coronation. Instead, we got our hearts ripped out. Rory almost missed his tee time and he still won his match. Every US golfer had the look of panic in their eyes when the early matches went blue. Paralysis set in.
It is the most disappointed I've ever felt at a sporting event. And that includes Norwood's "wide right" in the Super Bowl.
Glad to see the US team show some genuine fortitude this time around. Kudos to Davis Love for setting up the pins in easy places on Sunday and keeping the rough short. I think the players did not want to let him down this time.
I'd like to see Davis stay on as captain in 2018. Coach K is a continuous coach for USA basketball and that seems to work pretty well.
