The people won the day. An important lesson.

Yes. It's a great day for Sharia.

How long before it is discovered that the "coup" was a ruse to expose those seeking to maintain secularism within the govt?

Amazing how the left is violently anti-religion until it comes to Islamic Sharia law. Then they celebrate it. :zz:

My ex Brother In Law's wife is from Turkey and they are there 3-4 x a year and I saw him Saturday and he paints a much different picture of what the people really wanted and also what wasn't shown on TV. Very complex situation that I can't even begin to retell, but what you see isn't always what you get.

Very true. You won't get an unslanted perspective.

Wikileaks is preparing to release 500K docs and 300k emails related to the coup attempt.

it's a mess in turkey. I get that they want democracy...but how valid and democratic an election was the one that put erdogan in office? that office used to be ceremonial...and he's quashed a lot of freedoms.
like most things, it's very complex. and we are more concerned with him staying in power so we can keep doing as we are doing. so, a strong man might have been removed, but would whoever took over allow us to keep using their base for bombing runs?
they say it's secular there--but it seems some don't want that. and then there's some saying the coup was made up. very strange, convoluted.
