The end of the Belmont meet...and the world as we know it? (10th)

This year's Belmont meet comes to a close and who would have EVER thought that the final race @ Belmont would be won (and as the favorite!) by John "Jack" Wolderseder, the former handicapper for Capital OTB and host of "Horses and Courses". He's the trainer who got in trouble at the Spa a few year's back when horses weren't allowed to ship in because of some sickness and he brought one of his runners in anyway. He got in trouble for it, this was shortly after he was dismissed along with his co-hosts Linda Casse and Larry Owens from the morning line show. When Davis Etkins was shown the door.
It truly is the end of Belmont this season and quite possibly the world! LOL

The Easy Goer signature is a direct quote from former track announcer Marshall Cassidy from the summer of '89 when "Lil' Red" ran though everybody in New York, not where he was born or buried. Go back and listen to the race calls.

how the hell do you remember that year?
You are like my age and all I remember were like 3 races. too busy going to little league practice and egging houses to watch horse racing everyday.

That was the main year I started watching racing... I loved Easy Goer and my sister loved Sunday Silence. It was just fun, obviously, but those two had a great rivalry going on. I definitely wasn't parked at the local OTB or anything. :p

was starting to wonder what kind of 9YO you were.

yeah, I watched the triple crown and Breeders Cup races with my dad at that age.
thats about all I remember.
I just remember being upset about a west coast horse beating the best from NY.
that will never seem right.
