My stats:

- $20,171.30

You still need to work on value tickets. You invest too much on a race with limited return. Take for instance the last triple you bet. You invested $200 and only returned $343. That's not very good risk reward in my opinion and in the long run you will lose a lot of money fast.

Last night I was experimenting with a new handicapping program, I never looked at the odds just the top 2 contenders.. Today I will focus on top contenders and odds to maximize my value.
Thanks for your constructive comments I appreciate them

LS,

What are you using in your handicapping?? Just Beyer? If you are to make any sense of the ins and outs of this game I think some speed figures would be more than helpful! And at your level of play well worth the investment in time, and money..Thorograph or The Sheets might be worth a looksee..Learning curve to get you where you want to be, but again, well worth it if you are to play every day and at your $$ level.

All the best with your play, and get lucky!

Two words if now using a new system. Paper Trade.

I was using BRIS last night I started using RaceAnalyser
I've tried the sheets, never quite understood them.. I have two cohorts that use them religiously..

LS,
Would have to agree with JMS..Perhaps play with an imaginary bankroll until you can stop the bleeding. Although not all are in this game to pull huge profits..Losing at the rate you are is going to turn you away from a game that can bring a lot of fun and excitement!

I personally think bets like these are excessive, but if you do choose on making them, consider keying your top choices in the place spot on the triples in case they run second. If they end up winning, you have the exacta's and go through on your multi's. As of now, if they run second, you have zilch.

LoneStarHorse 02-04-2016 12:31 PM

Matt

You're 100% correct

LS,

And keep an eye on the trainers. In that race in particular you kept 2 of the hottest barns going out of the top spot. Difficult to win without keeping tabs on who's doing what.
