Who Is This Year's Spoiler In The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies?

In 2014, Take Charge Brandi shocked horse racing fans everywhere when posting a front running victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Songbird and Rachel's Valentina will be heavy favorites in this year's race. Who play's the spoiler role?

None. Sometimes it's just best to pass.

Maybe Tap To It, if she could be considered a spoiler.

A $1k parlay on Songbird - Golden Horn - AP would probably net about $3k profit. J Kinchen talked about it on DRF podcast as an option during the BCBC live money contest.

Seems beyond silly to me.

Didnt listen to the podcast but maybe it was a show parlay. Taking 3/1 on 3 horses to win n the Breeders Cup vs large fields with many quality horses seems to be a Giant underlay to me.

Wasn't a show parlay. Interesting discussion between Bernier, Kinchen and Hogan about it in last DRF podcast. 81 minutes of excellent BC crosstalk.

Great listen. Have not invested much time in tournaments - and there was a lot of BCBC chatter at the beginning of the podcast - but a great walk thru all the races with different opinions.

So how do I listen to the whole thing? I went to DRF.Com signed in started listening and 10 minutes in it cut to the Oct 20 podcast. This happened twice.

Think I got it... I searched and downloaded it. Clicking on the links seems to only give you 10 minutes... I guess it's me.

If you have a Podcast app on your phone, you can search for DRF through there and then subscribe to have their feed of podcasts automatically loaded into the app as they become available.

Other good ones to subscribe to are twinspires and Horse Racing Radio Network

Xpress weekend stakes preview with Ellis Starr and Anthony Stabile on HRRN is a must listen for me. Available 5pm on Fridays. I use it as starter to my Sat morning handicapping.

It was a kind of off the cuff comment. I didn't take it as a serious strategy.

Not for that game.

Yup. I don't think Songbird is winning. I love her race placement, I can bet against her in the pick 3's and if she wins move on because it starts the BC races Saturday. I think the other 2 are legit. AP more so because of where Liam's Map is running.

Not thrilled about the 10 hole but, Songbird is one serious race horse...

Merlinsky 10-28-2015 11:59 PM

How big would you say Songbird is vs. Rachel's Valentina? I know RV's small, but how small? I've only ever seen them on internet feeds and it's hard for me to judge the size of either filly.
