So its not just minimum wage

Husband works for a company that is the largest employer in the area. Also has the best payingnkobs anywhere in a 60 mile or more radius. The company, which has sites all over the country was bought by the koch brothers a few years ago.
they had a big union meeting, both production and maintenance, which is where he works...hes an electrician.
they have a new wage proposal, affecting new hires only. The new pay rates would be nowhere near what they pay now for production hands or anyone else in a 'non classified' position.
so, if one is a production hand for them in future...well, bye bye more middle class members.
But..hey, at least theyll have a job, right? And someone has to dlip the burgers, and soon, watch a machine. I mean, anyone can do that, right?

dont get me started on how diluted the skilled craft labor has become, especially in Texas. It has almost become a joke at the quality of so called skilled craft labor (contractors) in the refining/chemical processing plants.

Simple answer - vote for a presidential candidate (Dem or Rep) that won't accept tens of millions of dollars from the Koch bros (either directly as campaign contributions or *third party PAC funds*, or indirectly through their LOL *Foundations* or lobbyist influence).

oh wait :(

Too bad the news just got to Arkansas. It's been destroying families and the country outside the Ozarks for well over 15 years.

Hubby and his fellow maintenance voted it down, just got the results. But, five other groups in a total of three plants have to vote too.
What sucks is how the kochs present it...they 'reward' people who show a willingness to work with them.
they could shut these three down tomorrow and notnlose a minutes sleep. Flint mu kn a smaller scale.
lickily, he and i can take our abilities elsewhere. Others arent so lucky.
this is our home, we love it here.

I havent voted a dem or rep for president for several elections now.
The ozarks are in the northwest part of the state, we live in the southeast. Not a mountain to be seen.
but have still lived longer in md than anywhere..
