Travers attendance capped at 50k

They are capping the attendance for Travers Day at 50,000. If anyone knows how this impacts people with a season pass please let me know. I will be royally pissed if they turn people with a season pass away cause they already hit 50,000. I sent an email to NYRA but in true NYRA fashion they said if further action is needed they will get back in 7 days.

Also, doesn't 50,000 seem low?

Checked today. Season pass would get you in no problem.

Thanks for the info. Was having this terrible nightmare running through my head of showing up at noon and being told they already let 50k in and weren't letting anyone else through the gates.

At least you didn't overreact with your first post.

For the record the email response from NYRA said they had been told nothing about attendance being capped despite it being all over the media.

"showing up at noon"???? That's blasphemous!

I was talking to a guard last week and they capped the Whitney at 50,000. He said when they send a message on the radio, they shut the gates.

They really didn't publicize this. I see the idea. 40,000 for Whitney was fine. 50,000 for Travers is OK if you beef up staff a bit. Safety is an issue. Also the experience. Over 50,000 at SAR is not necessarily a good experience.

In today's online world, you should be able to get seats or GA online. Just show your cell phone when entering. No drones or selfie sticks.
