Without knowing what the TimeformUS figures are (when I have to write articles quickly, I just go with free BRIS), I chose Hoppertunity for the Gold Cup.

On Stephen Foster night, that dirt surface had to be biased, at least after the final turn. Horses on the inside stuck like glue.

My personal opinion: if Hopportunity
wins this that show how poor the west coast division is.

Well, there is Shared Belief. And California Chrome, perhaps.

But yeah, I think this year hasn't panned out like everyone had hoped, anywhere this year for older horses.

That being said, the western 3 yos have been dominant.

I thought Hopportunity looked like a bag of d!cks last time out, regardless of who he's facing here.

He's always been a bit overrated.

Moreno might be better, but Big Cazanova should take the starch out of him.

Catch a Flight has been unimpressive in his victories. Maybe there is something I'm not seeing. He does seem to win races though.

Hoppertunity ran well considering he didn't take the last turn tightly enough, and he only lost by a nose ... but I can never select him again after that.

He was much the best today.7 or 8 wide, took a while to straighten away. The winner never leaves the fence.

Maybe Guillot will stop whining about "cheap speed" after that dazzling performance by Moreno which included being beat home by Big Cazanova.
