Bengals

I watched a good bit of this game and must say that I was dissapointed. I am not a fan of the Bengals but my lord how many times do you let certain players on defense cost you like they did today with penalties?

Marvin Lewis better clamp down.

I was at this game game today and I gotta tell ya.... the Bucs would have won by 13 if they had an experienced QB. I also have to say that Cinci represented very well. Their fans were the best behaved that I've EVER seen there.

the bungals have NO self control OFF the field. what makes you think they'll self control on the field ???

You guys actually watched the game and came up with this...Some of you are truly clueless...Did anyone catch that non-roughing the passer that took them from the 40 to the 25, that was honestly one of the worst calls I have ever seen, it really cost them the game, he fumbled on that play...Not to mention they had 4 starters missing on defense and they will be getting 2 of them back next week, one of them being a Super Bowl MVP...Also, they get back Chris Perry this week, and Chris Henry the following week...I thought they played a good game considering all of that and that the refs gave the game away...

It's really amazing that some of you came up with this without watching the game, I guarantee you guys just saw the highlights, because I haven't read one intelligent post here...

Curt, they're buried and with no shot in the Wild Card, they aren't winning this Division...

How could you possibly dispute that, unless you aren't being truthful because you are a Bengals fan?

Seemed to work okay for the Cowboys...

They weren't out of control on the field, see if you can find that roughing the passer clip somewhere, he tacled him, no slamming, just tackled him and they called roughing the passer, it was rediculous...

Some of these comments are as bad as commenting on a race without seeing it, as a fan I thought they played really well, considering who they had playing and who they have coming back, they are 3-2 and haven't even played close to their best ball, I am not worried one bit...

Seriously, so I can tell if you are delusional or just blinded by your favorite team, can you really dispute that OFF the field your team is out of control? And if you do decide to come back to reality and agree with that, do you think maybe that could have a detrimental effect on their on field play?

They are not out of control, that is a falsehood, it's mainly been two players, one is gone for the year and his replacement is better than him and he probably won't be with the Bengals anymore, the other Chris Henry would have helped yesterday, because he's big and fast and stretches the field, yes in that sense his off field problems hurt the team...

The roughing the passer call was horrible and cost them the game, you could probably get the Buccaneers fans to agree to that, instead of being 2nd and 16 from the 46, it went to 1st and 10 from the 25, huge difference and obviously a huge help to Tampa Bay...

What someone that may not know or watch the team is that they had their starting middle linebacker out because of injury, the strongside linebacker out with injury, his replacement out with injury, their starting safety out with injury....

The Bengals had alot of penalties yesterday, but alot of them were false starts, because they were playing with their 3rd center in 4 weeks, because of injury, they had a rookie starting at guard, and then early in the game their starting Left Tackle got injured, so the Center went to Left Tackle, a backup Center came in, so they had one guy playing out of place and two new guys playing...Also, Carson is not 100% and with the O line problems not going to be fixed soon, there's cause for concern...But they do get Chris Perry back, he's a difference maker and he's been out with injury and they will get a trouble maker back after next week in Chris Henry....

Their problems are not because of off of the field problems, they are due to injury...The bad news is their O Line may not be fixable this year, the good news is that they are getting most of the Playmakers back within the week and some of those key guys on Defense...They have not played close to their best ball, but they are 3-2 and the Ravens are 4-2, Pitt and Cleveland are non-factors, so they have a nice shot at winning the Division again...

I watched at least 75% of the game. Roughing the passer, no it was not. Wanna go back to some of the other calls? I can't remember them all. I know you are a fan but what I said above at the start of this thread is true.

The roughing the passer was the biggest penalty, the others were off sides, there was a second roughing the passer that was questionable, but the one that cost them the game was not...I am a fan, but I also can detach myself and see what happened...I wouldn't comment on a race, unless I watched the whole thing...

2MinsToPost 10-16-2006 09:56 AM

Agrred on them having issues with guys out injured, and the problem at center was very obvious right off the bat.

2MinsToPost 10-16-2006 10:01 AM

Hey did you watch any of the Steelers game? Guy took Paulomino (spelling is wrong) down by his hair, then lifted him back up with it. Threw the flag on it and it cost KC 15 yards.

2MinsToPost 10-16-2006 10:14 AM

Ok I went back and looked at the Box Scores. Bengals had 10 penalties for 84yards and Tampa Bay had 9 penalties for 79 yards. Seemed like Cinci had more and yes you are correct mostly off sides. Which I think they get a pass on since they had several guys who are not starters in.
