I don't scare easily, or get nervous much.

But...

Just found out, I'm going to be a grandmother!

Congratulations! That's great news! My stepmom has a pillow that has embroidered on it, "If I'd known grandkids would be this much fun, I'd have had them first." :)

Congrats.:tro::eek::{>:

I have to share this with you...I believe I know now that grandkids are the best thing in the world. I never had kids so this is an observation.

I just lost my brother last week to Alzheimers. He was 66. My brother had only one child, my niece who is now 37. My niece has two boys, 10 and 7. My brother ADORED those two boys.

At the funeral service my niece spoke. She said that the two greatest days of her fathers life were the birth of his two grandsons. I started wondering when she said that. Why was her birth not the greatest day of his life?

I think us humans instinctively know when looking into the eyes of our grandchildren that we did what we were supposed to do. We carried on and ensured the well being of two more generations. We can rest now and enjoy those little ones. We did it. Kinda like making it across the finish line in one piece.

Lucky you to have a grandchild on the way. Keep us posted.

Wonderful news dan, your are going to love it and your job is to spoil him/her rotten:{>:..I remember holding my granddaughter in my hands when she was 1 hour old..what a blessing...and year ago she presented us with our first grandbaby:{>::...plan on spending much time with the baby and enjoy every minute...

Seems our celebration was premature. So much easier to soothe a young childs bumps and bruises than a grown mans tears.
