Khozan off Derby Trail

Trainer Todd Pletcher confirmed that the undefeated Khozan is off the Derby trail after coming back from a routine gallop at Palm Beach Downs on Friday off in his right hind ankle.

"We've sent him to Rood and Riddle, I'm waiting for Dr. Bramlage's(Larry) opinion on Monday," said Pletcher.

Khozan, a son of Distorted Humor, is undefeated and unchallenged in two starts. He won his debut by 3 3/4 lengths going six furlongs, earning a 103 Beyer Speed Figure in the process, then returned to dominate allowance compnay at a mile by nearly 13 lengths on Feb. 22. He was targeting the Florida Derby as his final Derby prep here on March 28.

Ughhh -- hope he can recover & test his skills out against tougher!
