Help

In turf racing , what does it mean when they " turf firm 9 ft"? What does the feet mean.?

Pretty sure that is the distance the rail is pushed out for the original position. The rail is moved out to provide decent turf throughout the meet. Certainly can influence the break at some tracks.

"From the original position, rather."

Without the specific example, I can only guess the 9 ft refers to the rail being out 9 ft from it's normal inside position?

Seth that's funny. My capping last weekend didn't include much turf. Wish we had all played golf in sunshine Saturday. And it was my pleasure to meet you.

Same here, Terry. Turf is my bread and butter, so it made for a difficult wagering situation. Luckily, the company more than made up for it.
