Chrome vs Shared Belief we are going to see that a few times this year im sure.... I hope Chrome dust him... Like Hoppertunity tho, think he is a very solid horse...

Think there is any chance we see Chrome in Dubai?

We are actually showing the San Marcos, a turf route, live and not the RB Lewis.

9 in Donn for Sat. (so far); no Liam's Map
By Marty McGee

As of 11 a.m. ET, there were 9 horses in the GP entry box for the G1 Donn Handicap, the highlight of a 6-stakes card Saturday.

One notable absence: Liam’s Map, who would have been a fourth horse for Todd Pletcher. Liam’s Map, 3-for-4 lifetime, got a 112 Beyer in winning the Dec. 13 Harlan’s Holiday here at GP.

“We’ve decided to wait on the Gulfstream Park Handicap,” Pletcher said just a few minutes ago via text, referencing a Grade 1, one-mile race. That March 7 race also is expected to get Wicked Strong.

The Pletcher trio that will run are Constitution, Commissioner, and Protonico.

We’ve been projecting 11 this week for the Donn … Prayer for Relief is the other one not on the current list of entries, although trainer Dale Romans has been known to enter late in the morning.

Donn entries: Lea, 121 pounds; Constitution, 119; Commissioner, 118; Protonico, 118; East Hall, 117; Blue Tone, 116; Catholic Cowboy, 115; Elnaawi, 115; and Sloane Avenue, 114.

Things will be firmed up on this race and all the others by early afternoon.

FYI that first post Saturday for a 13-race card is noon ET. Also, GP will have 13 races and noon post here Sunday, even though there isn’t a stakes race.

Shared Belief was much the best as Chrome didn't put much of fight in the last 16th.

Constitution and Shared Belief will be interesting to follow in the Handicap Division and it's too bad neither were able to make the Derby last year.

You still might see him in Dubai to avoid going head to head with Shared Belief again.

Santa Anita has to find a way to keep him in SoCal...it would be the best Big Cap in recent memory. This is what this sport needs...Chrome verse Rome all year long and I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he could turn the tables now with that race under his belt. A trip to Dubai would certainly end all of that.

California Chrome's next race is scheduled for the Dubai World Cup $10 Mil. Art Sherman stated that it wouldn't have been his first choice.

It was a given considering his connections, but this is one time that its the right choice unless he is a bleeder. Why gut him this early facing Shared Belief when he will be the favorite for 5 million or whatever the purse is now against alot of turf horses and some others from here. As owners, you can't pass that opportunity up and he'll get a deserving 6 months off after that.
