George Washington - Work

Appears he is working tomorrow on the dirt with 5 other horses. After the work then they will make a decision on where they are going to run GW.

It's tomorrow? I know it was scheduled for today but they couldn't fly because of the fog.

Thought it was gonna happen next week.

Let us know how he does.:)

I thought it was moved to next week as well because of the flight problems. I guess they changed their minds. I will let you know how he looked once I get word.

I don't think it is going to matter how it goes. It looks like they are going to the Classic with him.

So all those folks who speculated that he may run in the Classic a week or so ago who were told they knew nothing turned out to be right? I can't believe it.

They are going to the Classic. Watch the future books this week if you need confirmation.

Something like this, while I understand what they are doing and why they are doing it, pisses a fan like me off. I want to see the horses in their 'element' on BC Day and the best take on the best at their specialized distance and surface, especially if I was going to the races

Coolmore wants a Classic winner on their stallion books. It is really that simple. Remember George's dam is by Alysheba, the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner. He has a shot, but you still have to like Bernardini. George is already down to 5-1 in the BC Classic pools.

They have Aussie Rules for the mile too. Aussie Rules run in the Shadwell was pretty impressive. TJ Comerford said Aussie Rules is running at his peak right now. It would not look great if their own horse beat GW in the Mile.

I know why they are doing it, but my point was that they are taking away from racing but running one of their horses 'out of his element'. This works 1 out of 10 times, maybe 2 out of 10 times. I would rather get to experience a race like Rock of Gibralator's at Arlington then Dylan Thomas this weekend at Belmont

I understand what u are saying here but my question is how do u know that George will be out of his element on the dirt? He's never even tried it. U can't say that a horse CAN'T do something that he's NEVER tried. I'm not trying to belittle your opinion at all but u probably would have made this same statement about Giant's Causeway or Sakhee and they certainly didn't seem out of their element. I say give him a chance before u assume he is out of his element. Take a stand against with your money if u have to but give the horse a chance to show what he can do.

Imagine that.
