Took a road trip to Rem Park on Saturday and witnessed a hailstorm of long shots come across the finish line. I hit a ladder bet on a 14-1 shot in R1 7.5k 2yo maiden claimer (suspects vs prospects!) based solely on looks in the paddock.

After that it was Jose Angel Medina night, as he wen 7-3-0-1, bringing home win pays of $55, $24 and $32. An ROI of $15.10 per $2 win bet on his mounts.

I'll be looking for for his next day out, as he only had one 50-1 ML mount in the Sunday card.

The man with the pony tail that rivals the horses he rides has some real talent and flair.

It was a fantastic night. I really enjoy Remington's simulcasts and flew in from Chicago to check it out in person.

Medina's best work came on Makin' Mischief in R5 on 12/13. Trapped on the rail, made a bold move outside, bumped, and still caught the heavy favorite at the wire. Worth checking out.

I thought he was going to say he slept with the guy but wasn't completely disappointed as the pony tail line gave it a kinda bromance quality.

At least it was a different kinda redboard. You don't usually get the sense of a little crush while someone is breaking their arm to pat themselves on the back. :p

It's no wonder why there's virtually no racing discussion on this board anymore when you read a thread like this.

I honestly thought it was a goof account.

I went down there expecting to see the usual guys (Vazquez, Berry...) in the winner's circle, but this little known jockey stole the show. He has a HK style in his riding. Elbows flying out and reins flying.

It just left an impression.
