Where? Are there anymore 2 Year Old stakes races of any significance left?

Both are solid, Mr. Z especially might be distanced challenged, especially as this class catches up to him. Why not win races now?

I agree 100% with what he's doing. No guarantees on next year, and it doesn't seem as though these animals have superstar potential, so might as well strike while the iron is hot.

Jerry Reed sang 'When You're Hot, You're Hot'. TCB & Mr. Z are both hot. TCB has generated $840,000 in last 28 days. Cha-Ching !

Mr. Z looked like winner last Saturday. Just missed. Didn't look like 'hanger' from my vantage point at Delta Downs. TCB was very professional in repelling early speed challenge and cruised her way to victory.

Horses win money from starting gate not from their barns.

I think so too. I will never forget taking grief when zito said one year his were all done for the year. Wanted to save them for the derby...none made it.

I still think Take Charge Brandi has potential next year.

Isn't Giant's Causeway a late developing sire?

Her uncle Will Take Charge has been pointed out as her relative before, and he got pretty good late in his second year.

As for the slow Beyers people for Take Charge Brandi, these are babies...so does it matter? Horses grow and change rapidly. Will Take Charge sure did.

*On TimeformUS, she looks okay on speed figures (but I'm going off memory, so I could be wrong).

Will Take Charge was pretty massive (how big a filly is Brandi?) and an Unbridled's Song. They usually do better with time to grow into their bodies. When they get pushed because they show early talent, they don't get that time and I feel like that's where a lot of soundness issues attributed to Unbridled's Song happen. I'm not convinced it isn't a case of owners/trainers trying to write checks with their horse's talent that their bodies aren't ready to cash rather than some natural propensity to be unsound. You got a really fast horse, you wanna run'em. I get that. If you want them to stay sound though, gotta keep in mind how much they're trying to lug around while they're doing it.

As for Giant's Causeways, there are plenty that do well with age, but he's got Take Charge Brandi and Carpe Diem right now. He's also had Creative Cause, Shamardal, and First Samurai, so his 2yos can be precocious but they'll do even better later. It's part of the upside with him. You can get a top 3yo that showed something earlier which would help them at stud.
