turf paradise?
 

we're going on a trip in December out west...but it seems there's no racing around Christmastime in cali, but they are open at turf paradise...so we could stop by on the way home via phoenix.
has anyone been there? is it worth spending a day?

I've been several times over the years - worth the stop.

Santa Anita opens 12/26 every year

well, i'll have to check that again. I was hoping they would be open...so, glad to know this. thanks. I just went and looked at the calendar, and it's blank...maybe they haven't got that far in scheduling. but if they're open, I will definitely go.

Santa Anita always opens the day after Christmas. I grew up in Arcadia and live in the Phoenix area. There is no comparison, Santa Anita is the Great Race Place!

yeah, I'm glad NE let me know that, and you too. when i went to their site a few weeks back, and again yesterday and looked at the dec '14 calendar, it's blank. i thought they'd be open, so i was surprised-but thought maybe things had changed with holly closing, etc. so, relieved to know i can go there.
