Record Margin of Victory

This has to be a new record. Because running dime claimers 2 1/4 miles is a smart idea...

MNR R3 tonight, the winner won by 49 3/4 lengths. How they're determining quarters of lengths at that point is another story...Third placed finisher was 82 3/4 lengths behind the winner.

Best part of it all: Peter Berry was a quarter of a length off accurately calling the winning distance. What an eye!

Well, modern day would be the best they could hope for because DRF rounded off Man O' War's win margin against Hoodwink in the 1920 Lawrence Realization at an estimated 100 lengths. Although it would've been easy to claim Hoodwink wasn't really trying, MOW set a world record for 1 5/8 so he certainly was.
