Oak Tree at Santa Anita - Thursday - Tip

October 12nd (Thursday) - Oak Tree at Santa Anita - Race 4

#1 - Nakaba - 7 starts on the turf here in Brazil, with 2 wins (one G2), 2 second places (one G1) and a thirdplace (G1)

#2 - Naughty Rafaela - 4 starts on the turf here in Brazil, with 2 wins (one G1), 1 second place (Special Weight) and a 5th place (G1)

Both, debuting in the US.

Coincidently, their last starts were in the same race, on the third leg of São Paulo State's Triple Crown for Fillies. Naughty Rafaela won the race, while Nakaba got 2nd (denying brazilian filly Ever Love to sweep the Triple Crown).

The bad thing is that their last start was on December, 3rd of 2005 (nearly an 11 months layoff).

But if they are fit and well treated, I think it's very difficult for them not to finish 1st and 2nd again, against this field.

Good Luck!

Yes!

You're right! If he runs more frequently he will be even better...I don't understant his huge layoffs. Maybe something that didn't use to happen here is happening now...

Yeah.. Something's happening alright.. He's in America. Instead of running 10-16 times a year like he would in S. America, and like he's capable of, he's reduced to running 5-6 times...

I think they make you sign a form agreeing to treat them like Faberge eggs once they come here...

You´re right...

Here, a horse has to win every month to cover its fixed costs.

In the US, I think, purses can cover all fixed costs more easily.

By the way...Watch out those 2 fillies I mentioned!
