A boutique BC to say the least.

I read they are also going to have tail gate parties.:)

geeker2 06-25-2014 08:43 AM

They need to generate a map of the Water Closet locations.

Arletta 06-25-2014 08:47 AM

I still can't believe they picked this place to host a BC :zz:

I would rather freeze my dupa off in general admission at Belmont than pay mucho dinero for a no track view with 1,000 of my new BFFs.

Seems like the powers that be in KY decided to throw a private party to celebrate their new old surface. Good old boys network is tough to beat IF you belong. I figure it will be awesome IF you have the juice to get involved correctly. Save that, watch on TV, which is exactly what serves the folks that made this selection.

Agree, it has the feel of a elite social event that's going to cater to A-listers and the red carpet crowd. Meanwhile, what the sport needs is new blood and more importantly new gamblers. Unfortunately, I would think that they are going to opt to stay away from the track (for various reasons) that day.

DaTruth 06-25-2014 09:48 AM

I guess there won't be paddock access if you are in one of the tent cities.

Danzig 06-25-2014 09:50 AM

i was eager to go...now, not so much. just don't see how it would be possible.
i can imagine the ticket prices, so i guess i'll be watching from home.
may just go to another track near here and play it from a less crowded place.

Rudeboyelvis 06-25-2014 10:31 AM

How much do you figure a seat in the "Double Decker Tent" in the back of the paddock with "No Track View" will go for? :zz:

They may as well put a circus tent up in the parking lot and call that "seating".

While I understand sponsors, owners, etc, The Breeders Cup has morphed into an event for the industry insiders, by the industry insiders. The average guy or gal is not welcome. If you work in a regular job, you're not welcome. Keeneland used to be the place for the average person, heck the clubhouse is not the best vantage point. Now, Keeneland is becoming just another track.

tanner12oz 06-25-2014 04:30 PM

Hmmm I dont know but I'm still going to going to try to go

A couple of things...the Clubhouse at Keeneland is a private club that is off limits to the average person.

Also, I would say in all fairness that I am an industry insider....and you should see the seats I paid $400 a day for in 2011. I would show you where they were, but I am trying to hold onto some dignity.

I hear what you are saying, and I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I'm only trying to say that being an insider doesn't guarantee anything.

They are offering seating in the Sales Pavilion??:zz:
Say what?...do they mean the big pavilion that isn't even inside the track gates?

I would disagree. I have been to 3 different BC's.
2 at CD, 1 at SA. I saw plenty of average race fans at both venues.
