Do You Believe In Luck?

There are theories that suggest a person's frame of mind is really the most powerful tool we have in shaping our lives. While we all have varying reasons why we believe that to be true (or false), some may think luck plays a roll in it.

Do you believe in luck?

If so, do you have a lucky pen? socks? undies???

Do you have certain superstitions or practices that you always put in play before playing the races, asking for a raise, etc.? (Hopefully not voodoo!)

Tell us about them! (You might get lucky! :D )

I have a favorite pencil I use to handicap with.. I always seem to do bad when I don't use it.

At least that's the excuse I tell myself.

As far as believing in "luck", sure I do... There have been many times that I would have died without it.

I think some people are just born lucky and others have to "make their own luck". Not usre how, but I am still working on it :D

'Luck' and the belief in it is state of mind. Some people are able to easily dismiss negative results while relishing the positive ones and thus are more likely to consider themselves lucky.

Some dismiss the positives and dwell on the negatives and consider themselves unlucky. They are also more likely to believe others are lucky.

Many are just bad handicappers :)

In the movie, "The Longshot," Tim Conway poked fun at lucky ritualistic practices. The character he played had to use the same toilet stall every time he had to go.
