Who's FIRED UP??!!

I know it's only Tuesday, but I can't WAIT for California Chrome to have his shot at history this weekend.

My phone is already lighting up from friends who are more casual fans than I am, asking about his chances.

Anyway, hope we see history this Saturday, and that everyone's Belmont parties are a big success... :)

Same here only almost everyone seems pissed when I say not to use him in the top two spots.

Someone already said it here but if he wins, I'm happy and tear up some tickets and if he loses I say 'wow that's too bad' and go quietly cash. Rare win-win situation.

That said I'm psyched for Saturday's entire Belmont card.

I'm out of my brain, my productivity has plummeted, and I can't get enough TC news. Listening to Gary Stevens on ATR yesterday, I turned off my cell phone so as not to miss even a minute. On Friday I'll be on the road, and can only hope that rest areas, fuel stops, etc. coincide with the commercial breaks. I'll be watching the race with family and friends while celebrating a milestone birthday for my Mom. Fired up? You might say that.
:D

This is awesome! Definitely one you can mark off your "Bucket List" :)

"Fired up" and then some....cause he is going to do it. I feel it in my bones even more than when Smarty Jones tried. If that's possible. :)

Just so you know, I won't be at Belmont -- I'll be in Kentucky. :o Re-reading my post I could see where you might think I was going to be up in Elmont. But yes, it IS going to be awesome. :) Now it's time for At The Races!

Oh, well I am sure you will still have a great time.. Maybe not as good as if you were actually AT Belmont, but none-the-less I am sure you will have a blast.

I'm going to watch at Santa Anita, it's the next best thing since I can't be in New York, so psyched to see a Cal Bred win the Triple Crown!! And the Kings aren't too shabby either! West Coast rules!!! :)

GenuineRisk 06-03-2014 10:04 AM

I'm going to be squished in with the fellow unwashed masses at Belmont, with a group of friends including one I've known since middle school. Lucky for me, she's tall, so she'll be able to tell me what's happening. :)

I'm actually not quite as sick to my stomach with anxiety as I was in the 3 weeks leading up to Smarty's Belmont, so that's good. Or bad. I'm not sure.

But it's really nice to have another contender I can root for wholeheartedly.

I'm really looking forward to it!! I'll be heading to Churchill Downs where I'll be watching the Belmont on that shiny new Jumbotron. Should be a great weekend of racing and hopefully includes a new TC winner!!:D

alysheba4 06-03-2014 12:45 PM

after my 2004 Belmont Stakes,I cant take anymore of that........it was worse than cal jam II back in 78.

trackrat59 06-03-2014 12:59 PM

I'm really excited too. Just turned 58 so I'm thinking, will I ever see another TC before I keel over dead?

I hope CC does it. By a good number of lenghths too. That way me keeling over dead won't be caused by CC in a head to head dual in the stretch.

Hahaha! OMG! I don't think I could take it either, but wow! Could you just imagine him and Commanding Curve or Wicked Strong ding-donging it out to the wire... whew!

I think I'd better go warn the neighbors that if they hear any yelling at my house around 4:45 to just ignore it and to not call the police.

:D

Any horse racing fan not fired up for Saturday needs to find another interest.

Yeah, I hear you - this close could be lethal for many of us:

Especially if the photo is of Medalist and Wicked Strong...

Read this insight written by Art Parker. Not sure I completely agree but it did make me laugh.

Before the Preakness I had my say and Chrome defeated a less than stellar field, which included runner-up Ride On Curlin, a colt that has never won a graded stakes. That detail was a repeat of the Derby. Commanding Curve, the Derby runner-up, has never won a graded stakes either. And there is no doubt that in Baltimore, Chrome had another perfect trip. Let’s face it, thus far California Chrome is as lucky as a pothead with a marijuana prescription.

Funny how really good horses always seem to get those perfect trips.

hi_im_god 06-03-2014 07:53 PM

"lucky as a pothead with a marijuana prescription".

Because those are really hard to come by.

It's not that I disagree with his point. I just wish he had picked an actual analogy.

If California Chrome wins I hope he admits that he managed to climb the anthill.

How about 'got run over by the bandwagon'?

Zenyatta driving and Smarty in the passenger seat. Big Brown late because of a breakdown and Funnycide watching it all, laughing. A DRF cover idea........

Oh and Frank Sinatra from the grave yelling WTF
