Earthquake, SoCal

Everyone okay?

That was a rough one!

Edit - was just downgraded from 4.7 to 4.4 but whoa it was one of those hard, jarring ones. Felt a LOT stronger!

geeker2 03-17-2014 08:51 AM

Didn't feel it here....

I remember experiencing a few when I lived there. The largest was a 6.3 in 1991 I think it was. Happened at 5:08 on a Sunday morning and scared the dickens outta me! I remember thinking to myself "If I survive this, I am so going back to Texas.." Of course there were smaller ones in the 3 and 4 range that were actually kinda fun in a twisted way..lol Just enough to make one say "Whoa!" and see if anyone else noticed. The jarring ones were the worst though.

Hope you don't have anymore Gioia and that that it was the end of it.

Glad you're okay! I hate when the Earth shakes.

My son lives out that way and said his bed shook...said it was 4.5 and last week they had a slight tremor...this one scared the schiit out of him...no damage near him...years ago in Pasadena at night i felt a slight tremor in bed, first and last for me...stay safe G...

Glad the Shamrock shake didn't do any damage and that everyone is safe.

Honest to God I don't freak out easily and can handle earthquakes BUT my new place has a lot of glass (my bedroom has glass doors leading outside) and, combined with being literally a couple of miles from the epicenter, it just shook and shook HARD. That awful jarring kind. (The little rolling ones are the good ones!).

Hell of a way to wake up. :D

Well that one a few minutes ago felt tiny!

What a difference when you're close to the epicenter! Wish they were all like this one.

Glad you're okay!

That one on the East Coast what, two years ago, caused our mirrors to shake. But, being a lifelong East Coaster and 20+ year NYCer, I initially assumed my next door neighbor had blown up something in her kitchen.

Because that's what life in apartments does to you. Even natural disasters are the neighbors' fault.
