Channing Hill tweeted me lol
So for being the young dolt that I am, I was resistant to using Twitter for the longest time. I wasted enough time on Facebook (where I think it's easier to keep up with friends/fam/coworkers/old classmates, etc).
But I got into Twitter when I realized it was an easy way to find/geek out with other horse racing fans. I have some friends on twitter, use it for some other sports/music related stuff. But mainly I use it to talk horses. I actually don't follow many trainers or jockeys on twitter. I mainly just tweet with other fans and get news scoops from DRF and Bloodhorse people.
Last night after watching the replay of the Battaglia Memorial at Turfway, I questioned why Channing Hill left Poker Player with so much work to do in his hard-charging 2nd place finish. The thing is, I didn't tweet him directly- No "@ChanningRHill" was used nor did I use a hashtag before his name "#channinghill". So not sure how he saw it, but he was nice enough to respond to my tweet in 2 parts this morning.
My original Tweet last night-
Quote:
finally saw the replay of the Battaglia at Turfway, what the heck was Channing Hill doing on Poker Player staying that far back that long?

His Tweet to me this morning-
Quote:
(pt 1) @pmayjr didn't handle the kick back he hasn't had any I wanted to be closer but he didn't take my opinion into that much consideration
|
Quote:
(pt 2) @pmayjr on that hand his race was even more impressive especially since the winner never stopped and run such a huge race himself
|
I Tweeted back with this-
Quote:
@ChanningRHill awesome thx for the response. I only questioned because he was sooo far back. Have you had a chance to work him on dirt yet?

Hasn't responded to that last Tweet but was neat that he responded in the first place. As I said I don't Tweet with jockeys or trainers much, so not sure how he saw it. But was nice to get his explanation. Kinda neato.
