The Big Day Has Arrived

Tomorrow is Opening Day at Beulah Park.

I am excited cause I always go on Opening Day, well the last 4 years now. I know, bottom level Horse Racing but it is my home base.

The real question is, are you excited? :D

You get to experiance the level of racing where people really love these animals and that are true horsemen and do it day to day for the love of the game

There is some excitement for me. I do much better with bottom level claimers than big allowance horses. But on the flip side, since I like to be the crap tracks more than the good ones, I usually go at night, when mroe crap tracks are running. So I don't play a lot of Thistle/River/Beulah. But you can get soem good ones there mos def.

My best friend at the track is a man who is in his 70's. He has trained T Breds for decades and decades. He is such a nice man, so gracious to me and whoever is along. I love to chill at his barn first thing in the morning and just shoot the breeze with him. Their are so many good people, contrary to what some might think, backside. Sure the other element is present, but give me a morning any day of the week sipping coffee at his barn chilling out on a lawn chair any day of the week.

Crazy thing is that if you gave these people a "Big Horse" they usally do a better job than the big outfits. They always lose the horse to the big outfit when they take the horse from the backroad to derby fever and then the horse gets beat cause eventually they always lose then its the little guys fault that is so over rated to me. The only diffrence is the fact that the big boys that do really well with claimers can afford the best medicines if u catch my drift.
