Pinnacle's Belmont Odds

They are nuts if they think people are going to bet Steppenwolfer at +430. Both Pletcher horses are going to take action, along with Bob and John. Deputy Glitters is getting some pub (if it stays dry), High Finance and Jazil are going to take action.

I think you get 6/1 on Step on Belmont day and the favorite will be 4/1.

Furthermore, looking at Step's TG sheet, WILL YOU FINALLY RUN A NEW TOP, 4 friggin pairs in a row, EXPLODE ALREADY

hoovesupsideyourhead 06-09-2006 11:20 AM

i think he runs poorly...thats was some work...not a good idea to me but those of you who like him good luck sacred light has more upside for mine...

Scav 06-09-2006 11:33 AM

your crazy..Sacred Light will contend for last with Platinum Couple

ok..we shall see...bictor flies in for a shot of the purse..

I think we've seen Steppenwolfer's best already, which means he isn't good enough to win.

randallscott35 06-09-2006 11:49 AM

Sunriver goes off your favorite and wins. 3-1 or 7-2 sounds right. Not sexy I know.

Scav 06-09-2006 11:54 AM

Randall, you really like Sunriver to win?

I think he bounces, that last effort was very taxing, Bejarano asked him for EVERYTHING

He closed into a soft pace and Pletcher already said he was too far off the pace that day. I don't think he bounces. If he pairs the 0 he wins for fun in here. Like I said it isn't a given at 12 furlongs, but I'm not going to try and beat him just because. The most logical winner.

Scavs do yourself a favor and bet the matchup today Spider Power against Noble Deeds. Spider Power is just plain faster and will work out a far better trip.

eurobounce 06-09-2006 12:22 PM

I like Bluegrass Cat in this one. I thought and thought and he is simply the best horse in the field. Sunriver has a shot but I think Bluegrass Cat is so much better than any of these horses.

Can you compare Spider's pattern to Steppenwolfer's, and predict that type of a jump? I know they are completely different animals/surfaces but it looks somewhat the same

I am giong to put a little on that matchup, but I am worried about Spider bouncing, only 22 days after a 5pt top.....

randallscott35 06-09-2006 12:30 PM

Scavs,

To me you could bet this just on race flow. Noble Deeds if he doesn't rate will be forced to go very fast early and his 2 races at Belmont leave a lot to be desired. I think Spider Power is no fluke. The fact he took as much money as he did his first few in the States indicates they thought the last race was coming a long time ago. Clear matchup for me. Don't know if Spider will win but he'll do well.

Scav 06-09-2006 12:56 PM

I'm in on it, $138 to win $120

Scav 06-09-2006 05:55 PM

Easy

Thanks Randall, that was as easy as it gets

Togacapper 06-09-2006 06:05 PM

Scav, Want to know if you saw the 5th @ Arlington today?

Scav 06-09-2006 06:14 PM

I got the call via phone. I played the horse that ran last....the 11, the horse that won was extremely playable, what's up?

Togacapper 06-09-2006 06:19 PM

Ahhh ya gotta see the race. I used the 11 underneath keyed the 2 plus bet him to win he ran 2nd. Had trouble turning for home checked, stumbled. I'm blaming it on ferrer he really had no where to go, but he put himself in that position. Was gonna ask ya if you thought the 2 would have won if he didn't get in trouble.

Scav 06-09-2006 06:21 PM

alright, I am all over it....I played this mule 9 horse but I did it in the morning according to my friend who called the race for me, I wouldn't have played him with the way he looked on the track, get back to you in a couple minutes

Scav 06-09-2006 06:27 PM

Alright.....The thing with Arlington is that the he tried the patent'd Bridgo/Douglas ride...stick the rail the whole time and then split the horses that were staying and get through right by the tiring horse. I personally don't think he would have beat the 11, he was much the best. It looked like good race riding by the 11 because he closed the hole the 2 had. 2 was also a little green. Definite play back though for me, thanks for letting me know about him
