i don't think that's a light switch that can be easily turned on and off for a weekend.

Win it first before you worry about the takeout. Personally, I'd rather have something coming my way than none at all.

sorry but at that point you've already been ripped off for 10%...lets say you hit 5 picks 5s a year..at a 25% take vs 15%...thats a 500 buck difference rookie..could be the difference between profit and loss for a year...the odds are stacked against you to turn a positive roi...why make it 10% harder?

The takeout on the Pick 5 in California is 14%. That's what it is tomorrow. Then again Friday. On Saturday too. And for closing day Sunday.

I have all my pick 3s written down for $1's, but might change them all to 50 cents and add or press combos. Feel like this is the only day of the year "saturday" that 50 cent base still pays out very well.

Yes.. they do call the shots when they arrive at the Cup venue. But they have to abide by the local legalities.

I literally mark this weekend on my calendar every year for that reason....this weekend is the single greatest chance to generate a monster score...nothing comes close for me..not even the derby..

people don't realize that this weekend is different and you can punch 100 pick 3s and 500 pick 4s to your hearts content without fear of chalking out to some 12 pick 3 or 50 pick 4....i have a ton of respect for crist and look at the size of tickets he was punching for the cup in his book...my biggest score to date came 3 years back this very weekend...crush the cup boys...crush it
