Have been visiting the enigmatic gelding at Saratoga every few days and he's doing really well. Will take some pictures. Worked a Toy Cannon snappy 1:05.01 on Friday.

October 19. NY Showcase Day. The 8.5f ALW that's first race in the book.

Went in company with Schoolyard...on my watch the splits were 14, 27&1, 39&4, 105&1 out 121&1

TC worked again about an hour ago on the sealed/muddy Oklahoma training track. Went in 51 and a few

Payson Dave,

Would love to see some pics if you have any.

So, he looks good? Ready to go?

Sorry No Pics...

I'm thinking that Toy Cannon does his best running in the afternoons.

Some might say only running...

In answer to the question if he's ready to go, he'll work again next week in advance of the 10/19 start. You'd like him to duplicate his :49/:50-ish drills that have signaled readiness for a good effort.

Just back from Saratoga and Toy Cannon visit. Breezes Saturday morning (7:45a or so) ahead of next week's start. Looks just great having put the weight back on that he lost after the July start. Mott staffers said he's been acting professionally and seems to be maturing mentally with fewer antics in the morning. Will get a couple photos tomorrow.

Toy Cannon worked a :51-ish half Saturday in company with the very nice Juddmonte dirt filly Uno Duo (Macho Uno).. They broke off a little slowly but got going through the turn and finished well with the filly widening on the one-paced gelding. Toy Cannon galloped out nicely and cooled out quickly. Seems fit off the break and ready for next Saturday..

Thanks for the update Steve.

Unbelievably, the 8.5f-T NY-ALW race doesn't go for Showcase Day..

Kasept 10-14-2013 05:16 PM

Will try the NY-OC/N1X (8.5f-T) for Sunday..

Lava 10-14-2013 07:43 PM

Do you think the race Sunday will go Steve?

Don't know. Didn't get a chance to find out from the racing office how many entered the 8.5f for today. It was a book race and they instead used the 7f Extra instead.
