FL suspends, Tampa sanctions Cibelli

http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...ns-for-cibelli

Trainer Jane Cibelli will serve a 60-day suspension and face sanctions from Tampa Bay Downs following the conclusion of an investigation by a Florida regulator.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering entered a consent order Friday, Sept. 20, issuing the 60-day suspension of Cibelli. The investigation and suspension follow private veterinarian Orlando Paraliticci injecting a horse trained by Cibelli, Raven Train, less than 24 hours before the horse was scheduled to start in a Jan. 27 race at Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay Downs announced Wednesday, Sept. 25, that it will not grant stall space to Cibelli or any of her employees for the remainder of the 2013-14 race meet. She will not be permitted to enter races from an off-track location either.

I like how the use the term "remainder" of the 2013/2014 season! Like the meet has already started because they ran that one day horror show in July lol

At least they DID something. It will be interesting if Margo is affected at all, because technically they have said she was an 'employee' of Cibelli, probably in more ways then one

Kasept is off-form with his headlines.

Everyone knows:

FL = Finger Lakes

FLA = Florida

Margo's pre-race analysis is just not replaceable.

Yet Ness strolls the grounds with the greatest of ease....

Someone stated on the comments section of the Paulick report that Ness was not going back to Tampa this year. Now, obviously those have to be taken with the biggest grain of salt but if there is some validity to that, the place becomes bettable for those that are not center stage like some of our DT people.

Hmmm. Need to see it to believe it. And I like Tampa's product.

I think Ness should be banned for life, but I don't think his presence makes the racing unbettable. To the contrary, you can make some real money betting against his horses in the right spots (usually in turf races where his horses don't figure and are still bet like it's dirt) and in other spots, he's as rock-solid a single as they come. Again, I don't condone what he does, but strictly from a player's perspective, there's upside to having him on the grounds.

:tro:

I haven't pulled Formulator on him in a while, but if he claimed one out of a dirt sprint and ran him first out 2 turns turf, his win rate was like 6% or something, yet they always took a ton of :$::$: because his first off the claim % is generally in the high 30's. Great bet against opportunities as you get inflated prices on logical horses.

I've learned to live with him. If he doesn't come back, I won't be doing cartwheels about it nor will I lose any sleep. will definitely have to alter my approach to wagering there though.

Of course, Zaidie will be waiting in the wings to take his place.

I'm sure Ness will increase his string at Oaklawn with their gargantuan purses. He sent more last year.

I have absolutely no information and this is just speculation but perhaps Midwest is looking to something a little different. Virtually every huge claiming operation eventually loses interest in winning 8000nw2 races.

Well its the purse that they lose interest in not the race right? TBD has pathetic purse structure.

I don't know. They pulled out of Penn too after doing well with really cheap horses and far better purses than tampa. Winning all those races is nice but after awhile it gets old and people want to take on a new challenge. Again pure speculation but it isn't like they didn't know Tampa's purses sucked the last 5 years

Found this article on drf very interesting.

Seems that there are cheaters cheating the cheaters. Poetic justice IMO.

Sarapin works. They can claim whatever they want but I've seen it work.

I don't believe anything the RMTC says anymore. They told us years ago they had an effective test for EPO yet no positives and then just a few weeks ago we were told that the test they have more or less doesnt work.

My question to them is if these substances dont actually work then why would anyone want to waste money developing tests for them? How can a substance be classified as a Class A drug if they claim it has no effect?
