Death By Jogging
You know how it is. You go out for a jog and get shot in the back by three kids b/c they were "bored." What happened to the YMCA? That's ok, 150k a year to house these 3 for the rest of their lives b/c they won't get the death penalty.

Wonder why the three murderers are not being identified here but are in Australia?

Please, nobody say we shouldn't judge these kids cause we don't know what boredom is.... ;)

Cases like this make me wish they still had public executions.
Kill the pieces of $hit the day after they're found guilty. Some of the comments had me fuming this morning. Some shvatz on facebook bet that it would be white kids who did the killings. Other people were blaming the NRA. Wtf is wrong with people these days? Headed to the proverbial hand-basket, on rollerblades. |

you say you don't want it to be a debate about the death penalty, but you posted : 'That's ok, 150k a year to house these 3 for the rest of their lives b/c they won't get the death penalty. ' yeah, makes sense.... yeah, it's irrational to make sure people aren't guilty before we kill them. i mean, we never, ever see people getting sent away that turn out to be innocent. yes, it's senseless. yes, the visceral reaction is to do to them what they did...but then, that would put us on their level, wouldn't it? |

Death By Jogging
How about this. We extradite them to Australia where they are released in the middle of the outback. If they make it to civilization, I'm sure the Aussies will treat them fairly.

Now the top story on google news. Took long enough...Australia's former PM saying to boycott the US over this. Which is also ridiculous.

yes, this seems an open and shut case. doesn't change my opinion on the death penalty one whit. and no, it's not 'all i could see'. i also find the unequal sentencing racewise to be especially troubling. a study i read just a few weeks back discussed the disproportionate amount of blacks on death row vs whites, as well as the skewed numbers regarding white victims vs black. |

this growing scandal is one example of how justice can be skewed, tainted, etc, and is one of the reasons why i am against the death penalty. locally, we had a couple investigators who were found to have lied about their past, education, training, etc. it brought all their credibility into question, and several convictions had to be tossed because the two were the only two to investigate some crimes. i can't help but wonder about other labs...and as someone once said about dna evidence, it is only as good as the person reading the results. |
