University of Sydney to attempt Phar Lap DNA sequencing

Good luck to them. It'll be fascinating to see what comes of it. Maybe someone will attempt it with one of the great American or European horses. I don't know what preservation techniques would allow for that though. It's not like they necessarily knew to do anything so that would be an option in the future, hence the issue with a full sequence of Phar Lap now.

So Phar Lap was also nicknamed "Big Red"? Interesting.
