Corybant, Toy Cannon work well; Spondulix struggling
As we move toward another spate of starts, there is mostly good news. Corybant is 100% healthy after the nasty hoof abscess that set him back and is approaching a start. He was given a 1:04 work for five-eighths the other day but was really working a half mile with a gallop out. He will work once more and look for a spot, most likely a $25k/N2L going 6f on turf.
Toy Cannon worked a sharp -- for him -- half Wednesday, going in :48.3. He'll run next Saturday in another 8.5f-T NY-ALW/N1X. Chuck updated on One Revolution and her start 6/28... My Pal of Pals doesn't need to work and may enter the next 7f-T NY-N1X that comes up. The only less than encouraging news involves Spondulix who is struggling to stay sound. He breezed a half mile Saturday at Finger Lakes and cooled out off. Mike Lecesse will see how he is in a couple of days, but the outlook for him being productive isn't good. He has been problematic from early on, growing and maturing slowly and then being injured in the insane gate incident at Saratoga. |
