Good luck!

Peanuts for Jack, he made a killing betting the overs on Tennessee football this past season......:zz:

It is $165 to win a $10,000 prize. That is not bad value at all.

I have played in all four Breeder's Cup Betting Challenge contests. It is an amazing experience being there live for the Breeder's Cup, having the best seats in the house, full buffet each day, etc. It is a first class event all the way.

Fortunately, I won my want in back in January so don't have to play Sunday. But I would encourage anyone to give this a try. It is an unforgettable experience.

Unfortunately, it's not in the "budget" for me now, but really hope that I will get some extra $$ to play in one of these soon. As most of you know, I compete in most all the "free" contests, but I would really be interested in seeing how good/bad I would do in a "Big Hitters" contest like this one.

Best of luck to all that are playing and hope you make the "cut".

I think i might take a stab at it this week. I was lucky enough to qualify for the NHC. Something tells me this would be a bigger rush being that it takes place on our biggest day of the year. Good luck to all those who will compete this weekend..

I have been in 7 NHC's and all of the BCBC contests. The BCBC is the far better event in my opinion. Being live on track makes a huge difference at the event and you get access to everything.

Further, the BC contest returns 100% of all entry fees to players and adds another $25,00 to the pot on top of that. The NHC, well no one knows exactly what the take out is but I assure you it is not small.

Lone Star use to have a great NHC qualifier tournament. Even thier pre-qualifier events in the past offered great prizes into the several thousand dollar range. Before, thier contests consists of any 10 races from 4 tracks with bets for trifecta, supers, exactas and WPS.

Now their prequalifier has been watered down to the point you will be lucky to win $600 bucks and the end prize is a trip to the Finals in vegas with no other cash prize. Also, the format has been changed to a strict 10 race $2 WP bet which is a boring format. This format is for picking winners rather than making money.

This is not my favorite format either. But, it is certainly not a format for picking winners. One 25-1 horse will beat nine short priced winners. This format is all about making money.

I haven't been to the NHC at Treasure Island, but between the NHC at Red Rock, HPWS, and BC Betting Challenge, the BCBC is the best tournament by a landslide. All of the reasons Paul laid out make it the best. Format, setting, venue, etc.

helicopter11 04-04-2013 07:25 PM

The treasure island sportsbook has to be one of the worst in vegas. No surprise the NHC tournament is played there.

I played in the Red Rocks 4th of July event in 2010. That was a decent venue.

Win cap is typically 20/1 and a place cap at 10/1 but I see your point
