Vosburgh Nominations

Afrashad, Attila's Sword, Commentator, Friendly Island, Henny Hughes, Silver Train, Silver Wagon, Sun King, War Front and Who's the Cowboy.

I guess Henny Hughes, War Front & Silver Train are definates.. I'm guessing Commentator will run too.. Could be a small but very tough field.

The Bid 09-27-2006 07:38 PM

Whos the Cowboy is a pretty serious horse as well. He has a real nice running style. I would love to see him step up with these kind of horses. You are right, its a real nice field if they all show up

tycharles01 09-27-2006 10:06 PM

Also could be a nice 6 horse race in Vosburgh

Henny Hughes
Whos the Cowboy
War Front
Silver Train
Commentator
Friendly Island(Unless runs this week at Belmont or in KY)
Afrashad(Doubt he runs, but never know?? gets a nice post and could run)

DiscreetCat=Monster 09-27-2006 11:57 PM

Its Gonna Be A Walkover

It will be HH in hand by 3 on the wire and will be favored going into the BC:)

Gander 09-28-2006 10:33 AM

I doubt very much Whos the Cowboy will pick this race to step up. Hes a very nice horse but this may be too much too soon. Wow, his last race at Monmouth was something to watch, what a move. But I'm not sure horses like Henny Hughes & War Front will conveniently back up as easily as Juan Seryey's charge Brothers Brucker did!

What a race this is shaping up to be. 3 absolute tigers in Henny, War Front and Silver Train. Who needs anymore horses when you have these 3!

zippyneedsawin 09-28-2006 10:36 AM

I'm sure he'll have many skeptics, but I think Commentator has a real shot at winning this if he goes.. It'll be a small field, which is right up his alley, he would need to break well and hurry to the lead, if that happens, he'd be tough to beat.

tycharles01 09-28-2006 10:40 AM

Whos the Cowboy is a nice horse but you cant run in Monmouth every month to have a nice career. Its a good opp for this horse. Maybe get a nice speed duel and he could sneak up

This race is gonna be all about the post, if you draw 1 or 2 and your name is not Henny Hughes could prolly just mark off finishing high

U know the more horses means better odds on all!! I wont complain maybe get better than 4/5 on Henny:D Silver Train will def get alot of action 7/2?? 5/2 and if Commentator goes and gets a 4,5,6 post alot will be on him too

blackthroatedwind 09-28-2006 10:43 AM

Why would Henny Hughes be a substantial favorite over Silver Train or War Front? Not saying Henny Hughes can't win but I think there is an enormous disparity between what he's actually done and the internet perception.

Gander 09-28-2006 10:55 AM

I couldnt agree more Andy. I've been very impressed with Silver Train and War Front so far. They are both fast and can win under different pace scenarios. Both horses love Belmont Park and both have been battle tested. I think you'll get great value on everybody in here with the exception of the 3 year old Henny Hughes. Sure he can win, but not with my money.

Bold Reasoning 09-28-2006 10:59 AM

I like Silver Train and War Front because they have rarely disappointed me. :)

zippyneedsawin 09-28-2006 11:01 AM

That's what makes this race so interesting.. Henny Hughes is very talented, Silver Train is great at Belmont, War Front must be respected, and despite his last race, Commentator should be feared as well!

tycharles01 09-28-2006 11:03 AM

He is gonna be big fave cause of the hype, dont forget odds are based on what people put money on!!! You are gonna have tons of part time players who see the hype and are going to put the weeks pay on him. One reason I wish i did not have to work, look at some of the odds you get on midweek races that are somewhat big

Its a 3 horse race maybe 4 if Commentator gets a nice outside post and does not forget to run when the gate opens

Unfortunately what you wrote is not true. I wish it was. The pool is " smart ", especially in NY, and the dummy money barely exists.

I didn't say he would be the favorite in the VOS but once he donminates and shows his superiorness he will be favored in the BC Sprint after a most impressive performance.:D

blackthroatedwind 09-28-2006 11:36 AM

It's not all about you, babe, I was actually responding to the post before mine where someone claimed he would be 4:5.

Don't matter to me i am just tellin you whats gonna happen then i won't even say i told you so, cause i am nice like that. He will prob be 4-5 in the BC. There is always that button that says quote so you can reply to what one person says try it it's a helpful tool

blackthroatedwind 09-28-2006 11:48 AM

I'll respond to you this time.....there is next to no chance he will be 4:5 in the BC Sprint.

Gander 09-28-2006 12:20 PM

He may not be 4/5 in the Vosburgh but he will be the favorite. And I think there is plenty of dummy money in the pools in NY.

I agree. Its not like there are going to be 60,000 people at the track. There might be 5-10k depending on the weather of course.

I would imagine worst case Henny is 8-5 and best case 3-1.

Why would Silver Train NOT be favored here? Loves the track, defending BC sprint champ and the race sets up perfectly for his style.
