TVG Shake Up
TVG dismisses Allevato, executive vice president
By Matt Hegarty DRF Tony Allevato, the executive vice president for television at the horse racing network TVG, was let go on Tuesday, according to two racing officials. Allevato, a former director of television production and the broadcast publicist at Hollywood Park, was the first executive producer hired by TVG when the network was launched in 1999. He was gradually given more responsibilities as the network grew, and was elevated to executive vice president in 2011. In addition to duties overseeing the networks’ broadcast marketing and advertising sales, Allevato was responsible for the network’s programming content, and was instrumental in creating the look and feel of how the network presents its various programs to viewers. Stephen Burn, the network’s chief executive, said in a statement issued in response to an inquiry about Allevato, “TVG has undergone a restructure and consequently, and unfortunately, some jobs were eliminated. It is a matter of company policy we don’t make public comments on individual situations.” TVG is owned by Betfair, the British exchange-wagering company. The network is available in approximately 36 million homes. Any speculation on how this will impact TVG? |
Chantal Sutherland will be part of the TVG crew starting Big Cap day.
This is a bad move by TVG for hiring her. If anyone lasted in hearing any of her interviews in the past will conclude that she talks like a 13 year old. |
She was hired because she's an attractive looking female.
In terms of what she will provide as analyst, obviously almost nothing of value to any bettor. I think Emma Jayne Wilson would be much better suited to the job, appearance not withstanding. She's a better jockey, and a much better speaker. One of the most intelligent sounding jockeys I've ever heard interviewed. |
How about the twitter hashtag for the announcement... #tvgbig

She has no insight to the game. Just watch her post race interview after her armchair Gold cup win last year for an example. |
But I say she still would do a better job than that babbling Idiot Zoe Cadman on HRTV.
