Really nice feature on the ageless wonder at Philly.com. I'm afraid that I'm responsible for letting him know how close he was to 5,200 a couple of years ago, which became the number he decided he wanted to reach before leaving the jock's room for good. I treasure the wins Dee Tee has, but the photo of Tony with Redboard King particularly means a lot to me. He's an authentic sports legend in Philadelphia/South Jersey and will leave the jockey ranks as on of the winningest riders in the game's history.

Would have missed that article. Tony is a good man-terrific rider - and classy regular on your show. Hope he gets that elusive winner quickly and moves on to traing and advising youn riders.

Really nice! I heard you talking about it on ATR -- glad you posted it here. I always look forward to Tony's ATR appearances and enjoy hearing his perspective.

One of my grandfathers favorite jockeys. He can be like the Earlie Fires of the post Curlin era.

My 1st handicapping experiences were at Old Keystone or Kmart as we called because the sign which was a big K with horses running out of it. The top jocks were Tony Black and Rick Wilson and "honest" Burton Sipp owned the place as top trainer. Always liked Tony as jock just had to pick your spots....My friend was an assistant trainer during those days and said Tony was one of the best jocks in the mid-Atlantic when he wanted to be.

Thank you. I would also have missed this article. I began following Philly Park when simulcasting first came to Pennsylvania. At first, the only tracks we could wager on were the PA tracks. I quickly started following the runners from Pha and Pen and then began looking at New York.

I visit Monmouth and Parx every year around the 4th of July and have always enjoyed seeing the horses and jocks up close. The game is so much more fun when you are experiencing it live.

Best of luck to Mr. Black and I am sure he will get #5200
