Stan 'The Man' Musial Dies

The greatest Cardinal of all-time. May he rest in peace.

STAN 'THE MAN' MUSIAL DIES: NO. 6 WAS GREATEST CARDINAL

The Ebbets Field faithful in Brooklyn were the first to call Stan Musial “The Man” after Musial had ravaged their beloved Dodgers time and again in the late 1940s. On one occasion, Post-Dispatch baseball writer Bob Broeg incorporated “The Man” into his game account. And that was how Musial forever after was referred to in St. Louis: “Stan the Man.”

RIP Stan The Man. Many memories hearing Harry Caray talk about Stan Musial and Red Shoendeinst during those Cubs/Cards games. Great hitter, great person, legend.

Wonder what his "moneyball" statistics look like? RIP, one of the greatest of all time.

his obp was .417 which puts him 23rd on the all time list. his runs created is 3rd on the all time list.

he probably looks even better on moneyball stats than he did on the traditional ones.
