Using Ipad to handicap?

Hi all

I started handicapping in the late 70's up to a year ago was a traditional pen and paper handicapper. After going through numerous ink cartridges and killing trees, I begin to use the computer more. This month started to use an IPAD to access and review information to handicap. The only draw back is that I use the DRF Formulator which because it is Adobe Flash based which renders it useless on any IPAD or Android tablet and requires some preliminary work on a laptop.

I was wondering your thoughts and if there were is utilizing the Ipad for handicapping and how are you using it.

thanks:)

I have the same issue and can not use formulator. I use the regular pp's and make notations with ez PDF reader app.

Take a look at the Splashtop Remote App for IPad. You download a component to your PC and using the IPAD Splashtop App you can log on to your PC anywhere that you have wifi access. I use Formulator that way and it works out pretty well.

Thanks guys. I will try Splashtop. Currently I do what I need in Formulator on my laptop, convert the pps to PDF up load to Dropbox along with any other information then use GoodReader to highlight and mark up. I am getting the Mack to GoodReader and yesterday was the first time I used it for the entire SA card. By the end of the day found it easy to scroll through the pps and other information, even accessing info on the web.

Tom, have you tried other pdf annotators for Ipad? Just curious - i downloaded UPAD lite and not a huge fan of the text box - seems very cumbersome. Do you use ez PDF reader to add text to your pp's, or just to highlight data?

Dan I actually have a galaxy tab but I think it works the same for I pad. I usually just use the pen function to circle, make notes, cross out etc..... I can make all the same notations i do with a pen and highliter on the print form.

Same here using Good Reader...use the stylus and also found you can use your finger. Can also type text and it place it eight on the PDF where you locate it. I used the typed text to put it right over the PPs for scratched horses.

I hijacked one of the boys I-Pads and downloaded the EZ reader (lite). But it won't let me make notations on the DRF/pdf file, something about it being protected. Anyone know how to get around this?

Matt I don't know **** about that app but that won't stop me from commenting anyway ;) Maybe the fact that you are using EZ reader or the lite product is the reason for this.
