To My Fellow DT'ers

We are a crazy, kooky fraternity here on this site. No matter what's been said through the years, praise or derogative commentary.....I pray for you and your family's safety if you are in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

Hope that those who were planning to attend the BC are able to get through the first part of the week without too much incident. And then still be able to get out west for the fun.

Agree - keep safe, east coasters, and I hope afterwards everyone can get west for the BC if that's their plans.

And I hope the horses on Long Island and under hurricane threat are kept safe, too.

I know some BC horses are flying out of New York tonight, to Louisville.

Sorry. How about spirited banter?

joeydb 10-28-2012 08:07 PM

I had the same thoughts and was going to make a similar thread.

Everybody stay safe. This is one serious storm. Make preparations and keep your heads.

It will all be in the rear view mirror come Friday for Breeders Cup Day 1.

It looks like this thing is headed right for the Jersey Shore and is making a perfect strike into Erie right before it starts to soften up.

I loaded up on Jack, Coke (the liquid kind) and Ice. Also got some lunch meats and rolls in case this closes down the food joints.

Worst case scenario is that the possible 65 MPH winds and 25 foot waves on Lake Erie cause me to go a few hours without electricity and make it hard to get sleep with all the noise.

Calzone Lord 10-29-2012 10:34 AM

It will be awesome if we see devastation on the Jersey Shore.

Think of Katrina in New Orleans, except instead of looters loading up on beer like this guy...

You'll see spray tanned Guidos wading through waist high water with blue tubs full of looted hair products.

Are you finally seeing the comedic awesomeness of your species?

Pretty scary out in Mt Holly, NJ right now. Amazed that power is still on.

Good luck down there Chuck, stay safe. Winds are whipping around here (central NJ), thank God we haven't lost power (as of yet). Unfortunately its going to get worse before it gets better.

MaTH716 10-29-2012 07:24 PM

So much for the power, gonna be a long night.

Cannon Shell 10-29-2012 07:46 PM

Power and sat tv still on which has to be close to a miracle. Going to check horses in a little while which should be an adventure

Other than a 47-yard Touchdown catch by Randy Moss ... which felt like an LSD flashback to the year 1998 ... you guys didn't miss much.

dagolfer33 10-29-2012 10:26 PM

I remember being a kid, being glad we were out of school etc. Now, as a father and a property owner, I dread these storms. I am hoping for the best for all of you affected by this storm.

Calzone Lord 10-29-2012 10:39 PM

I remember being a kid and watching Moss make cuts like those two on that TD catch and make complete fools of defenders.

That was his only target of the entire night.
