He's off to stud after just one career race -- and will stand for $6,500.

He is one of the sports many great equine curiosities.

At least he didn't meet the same fate that Premier Pegasus met.

"Not since seeing Candy Ride run the mile in 1:31 flat in Argentina have I been so captivated by a racehorse."-John Sikura

"I have never sat on a horse that ran that fast and won so easily," Smith said. "He was just cruising, and I never asked him to run, and we went in 1:07 2/5. That was unbelievable. I am certain he was a superstar."

Asmussen agreed, saying, "He was a freak; beyond special; a different breed."

His debut performance was certainly among the greatest debut performances of all-time.

He was obviously a horse of uncommon talent sprinting.
