bigrun, i think that's been taken-you need to come up with something original!

and i kind of scanned over the article-not sure it's accurate tho. when one considers the empire making and attempted making in the last couple centuries...i don't know that you can narrow down all the killlings of both soldiers and civilians down to saying it was a case of socialism or communism...what about fascism? what about monarchies who tried to keep their power? i think the total of people killed in ww 2 alone added up to over 60 million people in the world. does the writer think all those deaths were due to the two idealogies he mentioned? japan's monstrous acts don't fit either political party he mentioned.

Williams only listed 2 Communist countries, there were also millions of deaths in places like Vietnam and Cambodia.

Fascism is a form of socialism, the only real differences are Fascism is very nationalistic and instead of concentrating all the power in the government it divides it between the government and big industry. Outside of that, they are pretty much the same.

"Which way are we headed tiny steps at a time — toward greater liberty or toward more government control over our lives?"

and it just keeps getting worse.....

This is a completely fact-free comment.

Re: Geniune Risk

Who are you Harry Reid? Provide some facts. A very smart man by the name of Thomas Sowell wrote a great article on the similarities between fascism and socialism. Google it and read it and then come back with a response with something backing up your comments.
